I work with children, adolescents and adults who present with one or more of the following difficulties:
Emotional and behavioural difficulties. These include low mood, anxiety, anger, impulsivity, self-harm and depression.
Experiences of trauma and difficult experiences, such as historical abuse or bereavement.
Relationship difficulties, including bullying.
Physical illness or physical health problems.
School refusal on emotional grounds.
Transitions (for example children moving from primary to secondary school and looked after children).
Arts therapies can be particularly helpful for people who:
Find it difficult to access their feelings and thoughts
Find it too upsetting to talk about painful experiences, and find talking treatments difficult or don’t engage.
Art therapy is provided in groups or individually, depending on clients' needs. It is not a recreational activity or an art lesson. Clients do not need to have any previous experience or expertise in art.
